Application and Deadlines

Students at our partner universities are requested to apply via EASY Mobility Online, the common online application system for European music universities and conservatoires. We request universities and conservatoires which do not have a contract with us to get in touch with us first.

Application Period

1 February to 15 March for an academic year beginning in October (winter semester and summer semester).

Application Documents

• Learning Agreement
• Curriculum Vitae
• Motivation Letter
• Letter of Recommendation from the main subject teacher
• Link to the recordings (video/audio: YouTube, Dropbox etc.): 20 - 30 minutes music from at least three different stylistic periods relevant to the subject
• Copy of passport or identity card

Notes on completing the Learning Agreement

To fill in the Learning Agreement, please use study plans you can find for each study course here. There you can choose a degree course e.g. Flöte -> Studium -> Bachelor of Music -> Studienplan.

Main subject teachers

Erasmus+ exchange students at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich can only be taught by professors and full-time lecturers (hauptamtliche Dozenten (HD)).

Application address

Please send applications via AEC Online Application System - EASY for mobility among higher music education institutions (https://aec.dreamapply.com/). The application deadline is 15 March.

Student residence

Health Insurance

In order to be registered as a student, you must have adequate health insurance. Insurance coverage is not automatically provided. Students have to make arrangements by themselves.

Depending on your country of origin, there are different regulations:

1. Students from countries of the European Union (EU):

• You can obtain a European health insurance card (EHIC) from the relevant health authority in your home country.
• After arrival in Germany, present this card to a German state health insurance provider (e.g.TK, AOK, BEK, DAK etc.).
• The German state health insurance provider will issue documentation confirming that you have health insurance cover in your home country.

 2. Students originating from non-EU countries with which Germany has a social insurance treaty (Iceland, former Yugoslavian states, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey):

• Please present confirmation of health insurance in your home country (Anspruchsbescheinigung) to a German state health insurance provider (e.g. TK, AOK, BEK, DAK etc.).
• The German State insurance provider will then issue a document called "Bescheinigung zur Vorlage bei der Hochschule", if your insurance status is sufficient.
• Please bring this document with you to the enrollment at the Registrar's Office.
• If the health insurance provider decides that your insurance cover is not adequate, you will need German health insurance cover.

Fees

Every student including Erasmus+ exchange students has to pay a Student Services Organization fee / social fee (Studentenwerksbeitrag) and a fee for a basic semester ticket. Accepted exchange students will be informed in detail in their Letter of admission.
