The Mongolian State Conservatory in Ulan Bator (MSC) and the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich (HMTM) are to expand their partnership from the academic year 2020/2021 in a comprehensive and sustained way. Thanks to a grant from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) of a total of 88,410 Euros for the two academic years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022, we are able to substantially expand the partnership.

From the 2020/2021 academic year, each year three students from the HMTM will be able to study for the summer semester in Ulan Bator. In exchange, each academic year three students from the MSC will come to Munich for a whole academic year. As well as the students, twelve short-term lectureships each of three weeks’ duration will be financed. In both of the funding years, six lecturers from the HMTM will travel to the MSC and six from the MSC to the HMTM. As well as this, the grant includes language courses, travel by project staff, and a student tutorial. The project will be coordinated by musician and lecturer Martin Zenker, who has been responsible for the development of this collaboration from the outset.

The DAAD is supporting the university partnership from the 2020/2021 academic year with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) through the “International Study and Training Partnerships (ISAP)” programme.

Interested students and teaching staff at the HMTM can now apply.
